The March 13 broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel Live coincided with a lunar event called the Blood Worm Moon, which Jimmy Kimmel made sure to explain to the audience in the funniest way possible.
“As we speak, if you’re watching this show on television as God intended, if you go outside and look up you’ll see the beginning of a rare occurrence they call a Blood Worm Moon,” he began.
The late night host continued, taking aim at disgraced lawyer and former Trump aide Rudy Giuliani: “Somewhere in Florida right now, Rudy Giuliani is hanging upside down, licking himself and enjoying the Blood Worm Moon, which is something that only happens in March, only happens every once in a while. It’s a total lunar eclipse that causes the moon to turn red.”
Though Kimmel often spends his opening monologues criticizing Donald Trump‘s policies, there are plenty of jokes to go around for his cabinet members and supporters.
He’s more recently set his sights on Elon Musk, who is reportedly butting heads with other members of Trump’s cabinet.
Kimmel roasted Musk on a recent episode of Live amid reports the DOGE head wanted the United States to pull out of the United Nations and NATO.
The late night host called it “a big deal,” pointing out that Musk “has 14 kids. He doesn’t ever pull out.”
He then brutally criticized the eccentric names Musk gives his children, calling them “ridiculous.”
“Elon had baby number 14 over the weekend,” Kimmel said at the time. “The baby’s mother tweeted the child’s name, which is Seldon Lycurgus. I wonder if when he impregnates these women they have a conversation he’s like, ‘There’s one thing thats very important to me. The child must have a ridiculous name.’”
He later added with a laugh, “Trump definitely thinks those are stupid names, right? The only thing dumber than Techno Mechanicus is Eric.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
