The world of wearables includes the niche (rings) and the spy-inspired (glasses), but smartwatches have taken off as a true tech essential. Brands like Apple, Garmin, Fitbit, Pixel, and Samsung make watches for everything from quickly checking messages to tracking workouts. The latter has many options, including the high-end Galaxy Watch Ultra that retails for $650.

But if you’re looking for an affordable smartwatch that can handle the basics, like sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring, the Galaxy Fit3 is a mere $60. The design is fairly rudimentary, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing — if you’re looking for a smartwatch that can handle your fitness tracking needs, but don’t want to get sucked in to too many distracting features, the Fit3 is worth considering.

2025 release

The Fit3 was released in January alongside the Galaxy A16, adding to Samsung‘s suite of affordable smartwatches and phones. The Fit3 focuses on health and fitness, with heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and even snore detection. It’s designed to work well with Android phones, and users can get more insights through the Samsung Health app.

The watch also has automatic workout detection to more easily track your workouts, and while most smartwatches require a charge about every other day, the Fit3 is designed with up to 13 days of battery life. The app also has over 100 built-in workouts for tracking various activities, and the slim, square design doesn’t take up too much wrist real estate.

As for durability, the 5ATM/IP68 water-resistance rating means you won’t have to be too careful with it, and it’ll be able to handle sweaty workouts and even swimming. While it can display texts and notifications, features like phone calls are more limited than on higher-end smartwatches, but if you find those features distracting, the limitations can be beneficial.

While there are plenty of ultra-budget smartwatches on Amazon, very few come from trusted tech brands like Samsung, and if you’re looking for smartwatch that can handle the basics without being distracting, the Fit3 is a solid daily option.
