As the leading man (and Best Actor-winner) for The Brutalist, it’s no wonder that Adrien Brody knows a little thing or two about timeless design. Stepping into his next big role, Brody is the face of travel brand Monos‘ new short film, taking to the streets of Morocco with their new Aluminum Luggage Collection by his side — and sharing thoughts on how globe-trotting can break down our (emotional) borders.
“Growing up in New York — a city full of diversity and unexpected encounters — ignited a thirst for adventure. I often find myself on location in different places while working on films, which is exciting; I love to explore, to travel, to get lost and find my way,” shared Adrien Brody on set during the cinematic shoot for Monos in Tangier. “Traveling reminds me that borders are irrelevant, no matter how different cultures or people may seem, we’re all just people living our unique stories,” continued Brody.

Monos Aluminum Collection
Shot by Mexico City-based filmmaker and photographer Alexis Gómez, this campaign features Brody on his travels throughout the city, meeting villagers and exploring its historical sights. Monos has the Asteroid City star shlepping in style with their new hardshell carry-on, medium and large check-in and trunk suitcases, all with an aluminum sheen in Aspen Silver, Champagne Gold and Caviar Black (the collection ranges from $665 to $775).
The three-minute film titled Kismet opens with Brody on a train — a reference to his character in Wes Anderson’s Darjeeling Limited (although hopefully without throwing any luggage off the train this time). As he explores the streets of this vibrant Mediterranean city, his journey unfolds with “quiet discoveries, unexpected kindness, and subtle exchanges,” showing how travel can humble us with moments of genuine connection, but many times just the solitude of you and your carry-on against the world.
But Monos’ new luggage make for a pretty good-looking travel companion. Made from anodized and electroplated aluminum, each piece is designed with a sleek brush finish (made to “develop a deep patina” over time), along with a black quilted taffeta lining. Jet-setter friendly features including TSA-friendly locks, a telescoping handle with four height settings, interior compression system and removable bag, along with 360-degree spinner wheels will come in the clutch no matter where you’re off to. These aluminum suitcases also include an anti-microbial laundry bag and two shoe bags, even if you won’t want to think about the trip back.

Launched in 2019, it’s easy to see why the Canadian company bills itself as “the Apple of suitcases.” Available in six carry-on and check-in sizes, Monos’ luxe, minimalist luggage is made with high-end materials such as “aerospace-grade” Makrolon polycarbonate from Germany, super-quiet wheels developed by a renowned Japanese manufacturer, a waterproof and anti-bacterial interior polyester liner, and a leather-like microfiber trim that’s 100% vegan. This new line marks Monos’ first all-aluminum offerings, although they recently collaborated with influencer Julie Sariñana and Magnolia Bakery on special edition colorways of their popular carry-ons.
