Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone‘s daughters laughed just as hard as we did when they watched their parents in Bridesmaids.
On this morning’s episode of The View, Falcone revealed that he recently walked in on his daughters — Vivian, 17, and Georgette, 15 — watching the iconic 2011 comedy, in which he played an Air Marshall that McCarthy’s character hilariously tried to seduce when they met on an airplane.
“Well, it’s interesting because actually, probably a couple of months ago, I walked in and they were laughing really hard,” Falcone recalled. “I walked in right at the very end of Bridesmaids, where I’m in underwear and I’m covered in lunch meat all over my body.”
He continued, “They were like, ‘Dad!’ I was like, ‘I’m so sorry!’”
The actor looked back on filming some of those laugh-out-loud moments with his wife, who made him break character when they were filming the memorable airplane scenes.
“I ruined a take, for sure, because I laughed really hard and my face was right in the camera,” he said. “When she had her leg up, she said, ‘Hey, do you see this leg?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ She goes, ‘I’ve got another just like it.’ And then she said, ‘I can put ‘em both over my head and comb my hair.’ And I lost it.”
According to Falcone, fans often approach him when he’s flying because of that scene. “They sort of say, ‘Oh, are you gonna protect us?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure. I’ll try,’” he told the co-hosts.
Bridesmaids wasn’t the only film the married couple collaborated on. Falcone directed and co-wrote 2014’s Tammy with McCarthy, who also starred as the titular character. He also directed The Boss (2016), Life of the Party (2018), Superintelligence (2020), and Thunder Force (2021), all of which starred McCarthy.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
