Oscar-Winner ‘I’m Still Here’ + More

This week, immerse yourself in another country with one of the great new movies on VOD, including the Oscar-winning Brazilian film I’m Still Here, or the latest film from Italian auteur Paolo Sorrentino, Parthenope.

If you want some action in your life, check out the release of High Rollers starring John Travolta. The film, a sequel to last year’s Cash Out, was helmed by Randall Ives Emmett, the controversial director who is synonymous with the “geezer teaser” genre of straight-to-VOD films starring acing action stars. Gina Gershon, Lukas Haas and Quavo round out the cast.

These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.

Fernanda Torres may not have taken home the Oscar for Best Actress this year, but she still gave one of the year’s best performances in I’m Still Here, which took home the Best International Feature prize. The Brazilian film stars Torres as real-life activist and lawyer Eunice Paiva as she deals with the 1970 disappearance of her husband, political dissident Rubens Paiva, who opposed Brazil’s military dictatorship.

Somehow, in his time away from playing the brilliantly flatulent Jackson Lamb in Slow Horses, Gary Oldman managed to film his latest project, the A24 movie Parthenope, which arrives on demand this week. In the film, written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino, a young woman named Parthenope (Celeste Dalla Porta) reflects on her youth and the many men she has met, including the author John Cheever, played by Oldman.
